A pure hypothetical question - but something I've always been interested in :
I'm running :
Elac 209JET speakers (4ohm, 90db) http://www.elac.com/en/archive/archiv_produkt_alt.php?f=44181
Onkyo TX-DS595 Amplifier (75w per channel min RMS at 8 ohm, 20-20, THD0.08) http://www.intl.onkyo.com/downloads/manuals/pdf/tx-ds595_manual_e.pdf
I'd love to get a power amplifier one day for the speakers - would I be right in saying even a 75w RMS power amplifier would be better than the Onkyo, due to current and resistance?
Would a power amplifier generally always supply more current than an all in one receiver for lower loads?
EDIT : Like this http://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,25046.msg323691.html#msg323691 - compact, nicely priced, similar power - would it drive the speakers better than the Onkyo?
