Our electricity went off just before 3pm yesterday and came back on a few minutes ago. My car had to sleep outside and the washing machine stopped mid cycle.
I hooked-up a portable radio and tried to listen for news about the problem but no news at all from any of the local stations.
I called 086 010 3089 and pressed this and that, only to listen to a recorded message listing outages from Plumstead, Kenilworth, Phola Park, Strand, Parow, Bellville and just about the entire Peninsula.
Why can't the electricity department issue a press release to radio stations explaining their problem and informing the public what they are doing to fix the outage?
