I have now read in many places that you can significantly improve the performance of a DAC by upgrading its power supply. In particular, I have read that you can significantly improve the dynamic range of the highly affordable Musical Fidelity V-DAC (selling for R3,770 at Takealot.com) by cuttting off its plug and plugging the wires into a separate power supply (3 Amp/12 Volt), as explained on the following pages:

Considering that this is a MUCH cheaper alternative than getting Musical Fidelity's separate "upgrade" power supply (which seems to have been discontinued anyway), I just have one question:
Isn't there a power supply designed for South African mains that would be a more preferred alternative than importing the recommended Pyramid PS3KX 3-Amp 12-Volt Power Supply from the USA?
