a buddy of mine has built up a pretty decent cinema room which did not cost a fortune but which has pretty decent equipment in it ... the stuff is not really high end but it really is good enough for most peoples entertainment needs and while he isnt an audiophile he is planning some minor changes to his system to help on the stereo front
this thread really would be useless without some pics, so for the pic whores here are the obligatory peekcha's to satisfy your thirst for audio porn
the front of the room houses the fixed screen for the projector - obviously it all looks a lot better when the lights are switched off - but for now these pics are more to show the room - he has Cambridge audio Aero speakers and a Panasonic projector ..... the 15" subwoofer is the DIY project built by Juggy described elsewhere in the forum

the total rear of the room - notice the stairs going up to the platform that the back seats are on - the person sitting under the projector has to be careful when getting up so that they dont bump their heads

he will be adding a Cambridge audio CXA80 stereo integrated amplifier with a built in DAC and link this to the AVR with the pre-outs of the AVR so he still uses the aero 6 speakers as the fronts but the amp adds a lot of the DAC facilities for stereo digital usage .... the amp is just being launched now (i would not mind getting one of these since it incorporates a lot of DAC funtionality direct to the amp and Cambridge audio are not bad at either DACs or amps but i will wait till he gets his and if i like it then i will decide :thumbs
