I have a Rotel RSP-1066 processor which I love - but it doesn't have HDMI.

I'm looking the cheapest - but best way - to do this. So far my choices are :

1 - Used RSP-1570 (HDMI 1.3)- R10,000
2 - Used RSP-1069 (HDMI 1.1)  - R5,000
3 - User AV amp - R?

I'm not keen on one only because of the sheer cost - but there is something that is pushing me to leave it open. The newer HDMI standard and the fact it looks like the current models and probably sounds great compared to a 1066.

The HDMI 1.1 and handshake issues I've read about is a concern - and it's around a decade old? Any owners here -  feelings? Soundwise?

Last option is buying a used Yamaha/Marantz or something for switching, but it needs preouts too. However if they're going at R4,000.00 I may as well just go for option 2 as it isn't too much more? But how much worse can it sound?

Any advice or something I've missed.

Thanks
