I might be in the market for a new projector shortly and I am looking at the Optoma uhd40 or the uhd42.
The uhd40 has 2400 lumens and contrast of 500000:1
The newer uhd42 has a whopping 3400 lumens and same contrast of 500000:1
The 42 model is being advertised as a gaming machine (what does that mean?)
I am leaning towards the newer 42 model but I will be using it for movies and not gaming. The room is big and not always completely dark because we use it sometimes in the late afternoon.
Now although price is always a consideration let's just forget about it for a while and rather concentrate on getting the better machine for the long run.
What are you guys opinion on these two machines for my application?
(I have been using an Epson EH-TW8100 for the last 5 years. It is an absolute awesome machine but it has developed a number of yellow and blue vertical lines and if I can not get rid of them (cleaning ribbons?) I will have to look at a new machine)
