After months of faffing trying to get the spares I can finally start rebuilding my bike's head. I'm transferring the old valve gear to the new head -- I need to lap the valves. How much do I need to do that? Just a quick one, or give them a long polish in? Does it just need to be a thin ring, or try get the whole sealing edge to mate?
Any anyone know where I can get (or rent) a valve compressor cheap? Autozone only have a huge one for R350, and it's not the kind of thing I'm going to need very often.
