I am posting this notice in this thread with Kay's consent.
I posted a new thread in the "classified" section for a group-buy of this cable if anyone is interested.
The idea is to see if we can get enough interested parties to justify importing a 100m reel of the cable from the UK.
I am not planning on making any profit on this deal - it is simply a bunch of people buying together.
There isn't much price difference between buying per metre or buying an entire reel, but I though I might throw out the idea and see if anyone else wants some of the cable. The price we can get the cable at will really not break the bank for anyone, considering the average person will not need more than 4 to 6 meters of it.
On bid-or-buy there is a gentleman selling this exact same cable for R149 per meter. Depending on Rand / Pound fluctuations, etc we will most likely pay between R70 and R80 per meter. Out of interest, I need 20m of this for myself. Morne wants 30m and Wes wants 10m so we have accounted for just over half a spool so far.
We can sort the payment and courier / delivery issues out if we get enough interest to justify buying the entire reel.
If you are interested, please post your name and the amount of cable you want in the classifieds section of the forum. If you want to order only 2m, that is also fine by me. The place I am buying from also sells various banana and spade terminals if you are interested in those to go with your speaker cable.
