I struggled for ages to fault find on a dodgy driver board without success, so in desperation, I ordered these from Ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/one-set-Quad-303-Power-Amplifier-bare-Boards-parts-for-DIY-or-Repair-Amp/392505921150?hash=item5b632d0e7e:g:GywAAOSwIxVequKs
It wasn't possible to see from the pics online whether all the components were included. I certainly couldn't see any transistors. I wasn't disappointed! There weren't any! :BWAHAHAH:
Anyway, I bit the bullet and closed my eyes, and to my surprise they arrived at my front door 3 weeks later, at a cost of 690ZAR
I set about populating the new boards, but had to get all the transistors and heat sinks locally.
After a few false starts and teething issues the restoration appears to be a success :Whoohoo:
I remain cautiously optimistic.
In future I would order the boards only, and get all the components locally, with a few exceptions.
Anyone planning similar invasive surgery is welcome to PM me, and I'll be more than happy to share any insight I've acquired during this process.
I just might be able to save someone a lot of heartache.
