hey guys
not sure if this is in the right forum, but it does contain video capabilities in the receiver, so i will just post this thread here.
i got the Sony sxrd 50" about 2 weeks back and am very happy with it. noe the problem is i want to get some sound and some upscaling to get the best out of my xbox and standard dvd system.
first off lets say the budget only stretches to R15000.
the beeg reason i want an amp is for the upscaling to 1080P, and thusfar the sony STR-DA5200ES seems to be the winner. it has gotten some great reviews, but my "source" tells me that the receiver has had some problems with blown channels.
any thoughts, or suggestions for some other receivers? (upscaling is my main concern) also i need to get SPEAKERS but have no idea what to go for. 5.1 would be sufficient.
kay suggested i go for the Denon DVD-1930 which does upscaling to 1080P and get another amp just for sound, but that leaves my xbox360 only outputting 720P. i dont want to get a xbox elite just for the hdmi. my current xbox is working fine.
