Recommend a camera

Not trying to start a Canon vs Nikon flame war but I am looking at getting a decent Digital SLR.

Not for professional use just decent all round every day events etc. Budget is around R7K and not looking for a whole lot of extras, just a single lens that is suitable for most situations.

Not in any rush either
