Recommendations: AV Reciver + Speakers package R8K budget

I would like some recommendations for a R8K budget receiver + speakers(surround but sub is optional at the moment) combo.
Obviously the receiver must support the latest standard technology. The main speakers should preferably be floor standers.
Aiming for the biggest sound within this budget.
