My project speakers are doing OK, sounding pretty reasonable but I've never been happy with the low end - struggling to get decent sound out of those Apex Jr 8" drivers... tried various combinations of port tuning, box volume, etc. Finally running it as a 30l sealed enclosure. Main problem is the mid (Emminence Alpha 5") and tweets (Visaton SC 10 N) are WAY more sensitive -- I've padded both 5dB.
I'm thinking it's time to get a better woofer 8" driver - want a fs of say 30Hz, sensitivity around 90dB/W/m, in an enclosure of say 50l or so (that's more or less the size of the cab now, it's stuffed with bricks to take up volume).
Don't want to spend more than R1600 or so on the pair...
Was looking at the Visaton W 200 S (which I see Silver.Audio is using in his build) -- PQsound have for R625 each

There seem to be no SEAS drivers in stock on the site ('though prob be too expensive).
Any other suggestions?
