Guys, now that my NAD 533 is singing, I'd like to look at some upgrade options for this TT. I do not wish to spend silly money, just make sure the unit is working great. I need to replace the feet of the deck, the standard NAD items are shocking and very loose. Difficult to adjust too, when leveling the deck. Then, all my reading suggests that a simple and cost effective upgrade is to remove the plastic counterweight stub and stock weight, and to then replace that with something like JA Michell's technoweight system. Are those or similar available locally?
I am not keen to rip the arm apart for a rewire, but I am wondering if the lack of a separate ground wire is going to burn me when I upgrade to a separate phonostage. What do you guys think?
I 'll be replacing the standard felt mat with a 1.5/3mm cork/rubber item (DIY mod) to test. The massive runout on the MDF platter worries me, so I want to explore the acroplat / glass platter / groovetracer acrylic platter or similar options. Any recommendations on that?
