i am looking at building a preamp with relay switching and need some solid advice as to what the best relays would be. I gather low level signal switching is a complex topic. The worst case levels I will be switching will be 2.8V peak at 0.28mA (2V RMS into a 10k impedance) obviously from a digital source. Of course whose to say what level could pop out of the (valve) phono stage (scratches and ticks). i gather low capacitance is one requirement and sealed, gold/silver contacts are another. are standard signal relays the way to go? what of relays for dry switching? i have seen some "dry" relays that can switch a max of 10V @ 10mA will these offer better performance at the levels i am looking at? any advice/knoswledge will be appreciated.
