Hi All,
I am new onto your forum so my apologies if this has been posted before and/or if this is in the wrong section.
I have an old Linn Sondek LP 12 that has finally stopped working properly. It seems that it is the motor. You need to 'kick start' it and then the speed is not constant when playing a record (its slow). Everything else, to my knowledge, is working perfectly.
I am nervous about taking it in to any old place to get repaired. Can anyone recommend the best place for me to take it in the Johannesburg area for repair and servicing? I love my Linn so I want to make sure I am taking it to guys that know what they are doing.
Also, if it is the motor that is the problem does it sound like a very expensive fix?
