My neighbour in the next street is a 78 year old spinster lady who lives alone and only has relatives in Denmark.  Nearly every day I receive an email from her, mainly about music and musicians.  Not having received anything from her since 27th April, I called her to get no reply.  So I went round there yesterday (30th April).  I have a remote that opens her gate, so can go right up to the house.  After ringing the bell without reply for a few mins, I walked round the back.  Here are two young (late 20's) white strangers I have never seen before sitting in her kitchen eating a pizza.  So I asked after Lisbeth.  No, she died they said.  Taken aback at this, since I had thought that she was extremely healthy, I asked when this had occurred.  The fellow said almost immediately "last week" and the girl said "no, on Monday".  I asked where the body was and was told it had been taken away.  At that the fellow gets up and slams the door in my face and locks it, staring through the glass.

Not liking their arrogant attitude, I left and when I got home, phoned the local SAPS.  This was answered after 4 or 5 mins so I told the lady (Phumisa) that I wanted to report a death.  She interrupted me, asking for my address (but not my name).  I was able after a while to tell her the address where the apparent deceased lived.  "What do you want us to do" was the reaction.  So I said "what if it is murder" hoping to shake some co-operation from this person.  Not in the least fazed by this, she asked if I had seen this person, to which I said, "yes, on 24th April".  So she says I must phone this person to see if she answers.  I say I have done that and there is no reply.  Without asking for my phone number, she hangs up the phone.

So I knocked on the door of the neighour of this lady (who is no on good terms with her for some reason) and get the brush-off.

This morning I called 10111 and reported a possible wrongful death.  They took down the details and said they would be in touch if necessary.  Hopefully they will go around.  I told my friend's neighbour that the SAPS might call so she will keep a lookout

Instills confidence, don't you think?
