I am trying to restore a non-working Thorens TD125 Mk2.
The motor was not running, and I suspected the Speed Control PCB.
I replaced the two main 1000uF caps, but no joy.
Then I noticed that there is no lamp soldered onto the PCB, as there seems to be required. It needs to be a 6V 20MA lamp.
Today, I soldered in a 6v (probably DC, not AC) 500MA torch bulb (in a holder), and with this I can get the 33rpm voltages to 5VAC, as required.
However, the 45rpm voltage is reading about 7.5VAC at its lowest (should be 6VAC) and the 16rpm voltage is reading about 0.2 to 0.5VAC at its highest (should be 3.2VAC). Clearly the bulb/lamp makes a difference, but this one is not right.
Any advice about what lamp to use, and where to get it?
Or what else to do?
Thanks,
J
