Reuse for Centre Speaker

I've dismantled a surround system and reverted to TV only and was thinking about offering the remaining items for sale (CS,Sub)and then instal a soundbar.However I got to wonder whether I could reuse the CS with an Rotel amp and feed the TV HDMI into a converter and then to the Rotel which has no HDMI(its old)and CS.I'm also questioning if soundbars are perhaps better suited and tuned for input from TV's.Any thoughts from members?
