Hi Guys

Is it common or possible for the right channel to stop working from a cartridge? I traced it down to the cart because the phonostage will play for hours from a MC burn in CD. I don't think it's the wiring inside the table because when I touch the right channel wire with tweezers by the cart I get a loudish hum on the right speaker(both ground and signal but ground is a softer humm). The problem is also not intermittent and the connections between the cart and wires are good. It will sometimes not work from the start and other times I will listen to 5 albums before the right channel disappears. I would have guessed it's a loose connection somewhere but then surely the right channel will come and go when I fiddle a bit. I think the cart will still be under guarantee but maybe there is an easy solution. Any suggestions?
