I have spent some time reading of [member=15447]Ingvar Ahlberg[/member]'s adventures. While I'd hate my children to follow his path, I am somewhat jealous of his well lived life. Thus when the opportunity presented itself, i decided to build his design - a 3m back loaded horn. A birch ply reminder of the spirit of music.
For starters, I will be using a Beyma 15p80 nd woofer - a pair that I have had lying unused waiting for a project. These are the v1 drivers, with a lowish Fs of 33Hz, ridiculously low Qts of 0.18, and moderate Vas etc. Should be perfect for this application.
The basshorns will be topped by either a 450Hz or 290Hz Yuichi horn, with BMS 4550 or RCF ND850 - one of these.
This far I have sent all of the measurements to be drafted for CNC, hoping to bum some machine time off a friend. Material will be this stuff: https://www.universalply.com/product/wisa-birch/
So onwards and upwards!
