heres a video to practically demonstrate why you need room treatments - okay not as much as they install for the room in the video because you can get most of that effect by strategically placing the stuff but room treatment can effectively improve things as if you actually spent a lot more on your equipment than you really did
so while definitely not a replacement to having high end equipment BUT you can get acceptable performance from what you already have by doing some meaningful changes
