I'm not really into doing reviews but here we go.
I wanted to see what the end result will be between these components.
My TT is a Rega Planer 3 with a Rb300 arm,new belt,Cardas internal wiring,Rega external wiring from Croak and the arm is fitted with a Nagaoka MP-110.
I used Dire straits (180g),Eagles(180g) ans some Fleetwood mac Lp's that is brand new from Rodney(Great service BTW give him a shot).

First i had the TT + Geco phono stage and the Rotel RC1070 pre amp connected, the sound was a bit flat to me,after a bit of listening i turned the freq up on the pre and it sounded a little bit better.
and sadly then listening fatigue kicked in.
After that i took the Geco out of the line, now we are using the Rotel Phono stage.I must admit it sounded exactly the same but now there was noise and allot of it.The other thing that bothered me was
the fact when i switched the TT on and off, there was a moerse amplified noise on the speakers. If anyone can tel me why i would be glad.At the end this was a no go setup.

Then i had the TT,Geco Phono and the Srpp Pre in line. This worked for me,the sound was just there, not bright not flat. Just like a good Bourbon.

At the end of the day, i want to do one more test with a diffrent cart on the Rb300,but for now i'm not to impressed with the Rotel and will stick to the Srpp.

What i want to say is the the Geco Phono stage is really value for your money, the thing is dead quiet compared to the Rotel and before i got it i had a Vincent Phono stage. You can't even compare the two.
So if you are looking for a good Phono, clime in withe rest on the Phono Build.
A link to the buildhttp://www.avforums.co.za/index.php?topic=18329.0

Sorry i forgot to mention,i used a Rotel power amp to do the test as my Kidnap is still not finish, not that i can blame anyone for this. :help:

The last thing i want to ask is what cart will you recommend in the R1000-R2000 class.
