Hello fellow nerds,
I'm a little confused. I have a issue I cannot seem to solve...
I stay in a complex with a cabled ethernet that has my internet connection. So it's easy as pie, I plug any PC (or device) directly into the ethernet port on the wall and it all works fine. There are 2 switches on the ground floor and obviously a DSL router (part of the building).
Now, when I plug the same cable into the WAN port on my wireless router then nothing at all is shared? The light for "internet" on my router doesn't turn on. If I connect any other devices to it's LAN ports there is no internet and likewise it's the same for the wireless. Why? It should automatically just share the network....
I also tried doing a MAC address clone on the router, that didn't help either. Likewise I also tried plugging the cable (from the wall) into a LAN port (no luck) and also then the same with the LAN port (AND cloning the MAC address), again no luck. This is very strange to me, what's happening here? What's wrong? How do I fix it....
