I've been after a 4 pole double throw switch this morning to complete my uberamp.

I stopped by at RS Components (over the road) - the queue at the counter was 10 long. After 1/2 hr 1 person had been served.

I came home, got onto the RSC website. They have about a million 4PDT switches on their catalogue. I went through 1/2 million of them - no stock of anything.

I phoned them. Sales couldn't help me, so I got put through to technical support. I asked them which of their 4PDT switches they had stock of. "Sorry sir I can't tell. We hold very few of our catalogue items as stock, so most will have a six day lead time."

OK. Phone Communica. Difficult to get through, but once I did - "Yes sir. 21,mm by 11.5, 40 in stock, part number 8401, R34.50"

Cool. Phoned Mantech. Easy to get through. "Yes sir, toggle, slide or rotary? Toggle, 15 in stock, 23mm by 12mm by 31mm height with toggle pin, R27.00 stock number 14m0313"

I'm actually done with RS, even though they are so close. No stock, long counter times, and very expensive.
