Hi everyone, (I posted this on AVS' owners forum so this is just a copy and paste)

I got a 50B650 yesterday after a long search for a potential screen that I can actually afford (Kuro prices are _way_ out of my budget). I must say so far it's been rather disappointing

Color accuracy seems good and I got it setup to reveal a lot of detail in the dark and not crush whites too much (if any), which is good.

There are several issues though:

Buzzing - not an issue when you've got sound playing at a normal level, but changing scenes (brightness changes) and changing things like cell light makes the power supply (I think) buzz at different frequencies. I can almost play a song with the different notes from the power supply.

Banding - Bringing up a menu box for instance causes the edge of the box to trail/streak into the image in the background, also some scenes with light backgrounds in movies have this horizontal banding.

Black level - This is THE reason I decided to get a plasma to replace my LCD. Wow, what a disappointment. The blacks in the black bars+image are hardly any darker than my LCD's (I watch movies in the dark). Reducing brightness/cell lighting/contrast/gamma nothing makes the absolute blacks anywhere near what I was expecting. Initially I wasn't happy with the black crush on this display but switching HDMI black level from low to normal solved that problem but doesn't really influence absolute black levels. I find the individual black level setting is a waste of time, it mostly just crushes the blacks the higher the setting.

Input lag - I'm a PC gamer and this screen is connected via an HDMI cable. Going from a 2ms Samsung LCD to this screen is HORRIBLE! Game mode does not do enough to cure input lag and comes with the added bonus of not being able to switch from standard and it's over blue color mode to the warm movie modes.

All these issues aside I think I'll be keeping this screen, blu-ray just looks so much better on 1920x1080 and 50inches
