Afternoon gents.
I've just opened up a Rotel RA 1070 to attend to the volume control due to "scratchyness" as well as
the speaker selector switch and the
"Contour" switch.
Sometimes the left channel was completely dead when switching on.
Vigorous rotating of all three knobs while off, generally got things going again.
I squirted a copious amount of Spanjaard "Lubricant and contact cleaner" into the holes and openings indicated.
After spraying I worked the switches as Andre mentioned on a Facebook page earlier.
Do I need to worry about the brown discolouration on the plastic coverings in the one photo ?
Before I close up, would anyone like to look and see if I've done it more or less correctly. The volume control has about three "boxes" but I'm guess the two closest to the fascia is the motor ??? I only sprayed the round one ????
