This is an assumption/opinion only.

The biggest/best sealed sub I've had in my place was a 18" Craigsub and I would not trade my venteds for that.


It's one of those audio myths that vented subs are always rubbish and sealed subs are always better.

You are now moving from one facet, boominess, to sound quality in general.

What is your primary focus HT or music? Boominess is more likely to be noticed under music that HT applications.

Nowhere did I state that vented subs are rubbish and sealed always better. I use "vented" myself.

Are you saying that the underdampening effect of the reflex enclosure on a driver is a good thing?
