Second tv hook up

Hi guys
A few months ago I started a post about connecting a second flat screen television in my entertainment area. I am getting ready to buy soon and just wanted to confirm a few things. Hope someone can help!

1. To get sound and picture, I simply run a cable from my HD PVR in my main viewing area to some sort of input on the second tv. Correct?
2. If the main television is a full HD plasma, does the second telly need to be a full HD version or will a HD ready tv also work?
