How many of you guys have had good results from using an amp with these cans?
I got a work friend to get me some 558s from the US to mod, after getting them have used them PCs and smartphones, all sound similar AQ Dragonfly sounds a little cleaner but when I put them through my main rig, (Rega DAC + Roksan Kandy) well...
HOLY :cr@p:, might just be the Kandy's distinct preamp I'm hearing, but strange thing is I didn't get quite the same difference with any other headphone I've tried and it closes a fair bit of the margin to the warmth and texture of the HD 650 even though the detail and separation still aren't nearly there
