Does the perception of the eye influence the SQ perceived by the ear?
i.e. as the nose does with taste, and if these influence each other, can the eye and ear also.
I read about a reputable audio company take a cheap E-bay tube DAC and tart it up and add a monster mark up, and getting good reviews (not A/B though).
I do understand the value of build quality and visual expression in audio gear. Perhaps the the visual expression serves more than one sense.
