Not sure if I'm being silly but my home theatre setup is sounding less dynamic especially on Dolby movies via DSTV. Dunno if it's normal but I'm not getting great effects coming through my rear speakers (Polk RTi A3's)
Is it perhaps poor quality playback from Multichoice or have I fiddled somewhere unknowingly?
If someone wants to comment on the following AVR settings, feel free to chip in!

PVR via HDMI into Onkyo receiver
Front speakers set to full band
Centre and rears set to THX 80hz
LPF of LFE THX 80hz
Double bass on

Fronts are bi-amped and set at 6 ohms
HDMI input for Decoder set at IN 3
I see under digital input setting I also have Decoder set at HDMI 3 so dunno if that's right or whether it should be blank?

I usually set the Onkyo AVR to all channel stereo for normal tv listening but when a movie comes on that is recorded Dolby, the light comes on but it sounds as though I'm still set on all channel stereo. I was sure that Dolby would override the all channel setting or am I wrong here?

Decoder settings

Under equipment set up, high def output is set to original although I see there there is a 1080i setting. I know this isn't audio but is the optimal setting for my HD Samsung plasma?

Cheers
Daniel
