I have been working on yet another Connoisseur BD2 and came across a dead Sony 'plastic-fantastic' turntable in the KK audiogear graveyard. Since I had worked on a similar unit recently I wondered if the motor could be hacked out and re-assigned to motor duties on the Connoisseur (as anyone who has worked on the original Connoisseur motor might know - it's a little agricultural
)....
Even though the pulley is not exactly the right size (1.5mm too small) there are two adjustment screws under the motor that can be used to set the speed. Luckily there is adjustment either way to get the Connoisseur on speed. I have managed to get 33.3 bang on. 45rpm is a bit eratic and sometimes the motor speeds up too much.
BTW. That little motor is dead quiet and hardly has any vibration at all.

A coupla questions for the electronics gurus here:
[list type=decimal]
[*]The turntables says 'servo controlled' yet in the table I see precious little. There is one board with three diodes and a capacitor and on the motor is a component with three legs. Where is the 'servo control'? In the motor?
[*] What does the 45rpm switch do? All I see are two wires that go to the motor from the switch. The motor then has another two wires for power. Am I right to assume that it routes through a resister or something to get different voltages?
