Shipping costs from Amazon

Yesterday I ordered 10 cd's from Amazon.com and the shipping worked out to be about $64. This is for the 8-16 day delivery option as the next one was actually more expensive believe it or not and the shorter one was just insanely expensive. Given the current R/$ exchange this is becoming rather expensive and I think the landing cost is going to be close to R180-R200 per CD including VAT.

The cd's appeared to cost substantially more from Amazon.co.uk then from Amazon.com. Examples

US = R148 for this and
UK= R191 for the same

Are there alternative or better ways to order/ship?
