I have a chance to get a single speakercraft starlet 4 speaker. A pair of these retail in the region of $4000, but of course a single one would be much less useful. I can get this one for a fraction of the retail price. The speaker itself consists of 4x6.5" Kevlar woofers and 4x4" ribbon tweeters. As the tweeter is coaxial on the woofer, it seems that the two may not be separated.
My question is if it would be worth possibly trying to split the woofer and tweeter combinations up and possibly use them as smaller individual satellite type speakers? Also, any advice on the practicality of doing this?
