My 2003 jag came out with a basic alpine system , with steering wheel controls.
AM/FM/Tape and a 6 cd changer. No power amp/sub and basic speakers. No option other than those cheap FM transmitter units to get ipod input. The sound , to be blunt , is kak.....
Thing is , I only spend 1/2 an hour daily in the car and mainly listen to the radio...
I'm considering a few options
1) Replace the whole radio etc with something a lot more modern , perhaps with satnav etc .... it must still work off the steering wheel , use better speakers , an amp or 2 and a small sub.
2) Hack the Cd changer to accept an ipod's input (easily done) and use the existing head but put in better speakers, a power amp or 2 and a small sub in the boot .. this will keep the car "stock"
My Budget is R10 000 , Im sure I can get some damn good car sound for that.
Whats your opinions
