I'm getting back into reloading after a long layoff and decided to strip, clean and relube the press.
I thought I had grease but only managed to find a tube of silicone paste. Should I rather wait until I get a chance to go to town and buy grease or will the paste be ok ?
As you know I'm at the coast and things rust as soon as you look the other way. Fortunately I had the parts well packed so there was mostly "brown surface powder" as opposed to any rust. Only the handle had a bit of light pitting but I've sanded that down and will get some Hammerite or similar paint for it.
Went to the RCBS website for take down PDFs and couldn't believe the prices for the stuff today. It's still worth it if you want to shoot as a sport though..... huge savings. I would never be able to purchase new rounds at today's prices.
