Ok, I've got a smartphone which I bought from a forumite a few months ago. My calls are on PAYG. MTN charges R10 for 10 megs of data. Mighty expensive. Received a flyer in the post last week to the effect that if you bring your own device and sign a 24 month contract you will get 500megs for R50. Sounded good. Spoke to the sales guy at MTN, filled in reams of paperwork, RICA'd etc. Two days later I was told to collect the sim card. HUH ? It turns out the data sim is for a laptop, pc etc. It should work in my phone but I'll lose the other phone facilities. Contract cancelled. My question .... if I buy a usb dongle for the data sim card will it work with my phone ? I do have the usb OTG cable to accept a dongle.
