I'm not much of a forum dweller, but something that Karel Mars has recently said is giving me cause to reconsider.
Our latest experiments seem to want to challenge some of the holy cows of quality reproduction. One line of development features aperiodic tuned pipes that are wall mounted, the other adds the insult of being a single speaker reproducing stereo sound.
These things have not been grabbed from the air, but are sure to raise some purist hackles nevertheless.
