Small room vs Floorstanders (advice required)

Good Day all



I recently started looking at floorstanders for my computer/entertainment room (again), the problem is that the room is pretty small. (2.8m*4.1m*2.6m)

I won't be able to use a sub for a while so I would like some FS with some decent bass as they will be used for gaming/movies/music (EDM/Rock/Metal)


I was looking at something along the lines of Fyne F303, JBL Arena 180 (+- R11k). These should be too big for the room size mentioned, would you suggest something else, or could you make these work using a few blocks of acoustic foam in the corners behind them? ... ... They will be paired with a Sherwood 903 Receiver (100w RMS p/c) until I can get a better amp/AVR. (Onkyo-9110 or something similar)
