I might need a little help from the pro's on this one!
Now that I have blown the RTi4's, I am in a pickle as to what would be the ideal match for my NAD317 amplifier
What worries me is that the spec on the 4's was anything from 20-125 w/channel. Was the NAD just too strong or had the 4's been driven too hard for too long over a 3 year period? Difficult one to figure out hey ???
Anyway, I need to start thinking about replacing the 4's and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a good match up.
I need a pair of speakers that will give good detail but also be able to stand up to being driven at relatively high volumes for lengthy periods of time. Not bothered if they are floor standers or bookshelves. Music style ranges from heavy rock to electronica to dance (don;t judge me ;D)
When I first owned a NAD 317, I had it hooked up to a pair of Cerwin Vega 10 inch three way floorstanders and that was a good combo but what I made up in sheer volume, I think I lost in sound quality ;D
I know this sort of thread could go on for years but hey, let's give it a try!
I will more than likely be going the second hand route (recession and all that nonsense etc :-[)
Cheers
Daniel
