Stylus and record cleaning 'fluids' seems to be a perennial subject and not only here.
Although I will admit to a prejudice against regularly using these very often outrageously overpriced potions, why not buy one of the many dustbug gadgets and catch airborne dirt off your records and BEFORE the stuff gets to the stylus?
Have used and nos Watts dustbugs disappeared from flea markets and charity shops. The late, lamented Mr Cecil Watts' invention was copied by many Johnny Come Latelies so this fact should expand the availability of a record brush to current and new vinyl players. Probably defunct firms such as Leda and Comet also made their own versions of dust bugs.
Here at chez Blue Angel, I have original nos Watts dustbugs on all my turntables. I also have a local replica but the source for these are no more.
So what's wrong with my reasoning to pick up dust during playback and before the stuff hits the stylus?
