I definitely have a soft spot for some of the Thorens tables I come across...

Fellow forumite morkhans brought me a Thorens TD125 to get up and running...

Yesterday I spent a few hours on it and did a few things to get her going again. (replaced caps, re-glued the strobe mirror, cleaned, mounted the arm...  :blah:  :blah:  :blah: )

This morning (after giving the bearing a good clean and oil) I plugged it into my main system for a proper listen.

Result =  :dance:

Even though this particular TD125 has a few issues and could probably do with a top to bottom refurbishment (versus a repair/service) it sounds great!!!

Have a listen to the result: The Cure - Close to me (256kbps Mp3 - 6mb)

Definitely not perfect! But certainly listen-able (and highly enjoyable)  O0

Where the Thorens TD150 has that 'fun' factor the TD125 brings some refinement to the table (so to speak)...
