The SONY CRF160 is apparently an iconic object of the world band radio community.
I am the original owner of this portable world band radio (it works via battery or 230V mains); I bought it new in Cape Town in 1974/5 and it is complete, cosmetically perfect and working - but I do intend selling it.
However, I've noticed that when it is switched on the volume control and band selectors make a scratchy noise until the relevant station has been selected. I believe this can be cured by someone who is qualified to apply contact cleaner and whatever electronic else - I just don't feel confident to do this myself, so can anyone recommend somebody to get this radio working 100%??
Many thanks.
