In the "By" published in the "Die Burger" of today there is a snippet re why some people love LP's.
The first hint of irrationality was when the question was asked in the article is why would some people still long for "long drop" toilets when flush toilets are available ?
Adrian Pelzer an engineering student at the University of Pretoria found that:
1. LP have more low frequency Pink noise than CD's
2. The higher the recording quality, the more people liked the CD format as the digital artifacts are better masked.
3. On a poor recording people preferred the LP's above a poorly recorded CD's where the digital artifacts becomes more obvious.
So there you have it. Sh-*$- tty recordings should be listened to on LP and quality recordings on CD.
