My old man passed away last week and I need some advice regarding the Estate.
I may be asking a few questions along the way and would value any advice or input.
My folks were married COP.
He doesn't have much of an Estate ,basically just the house and car.
Firstly I would like to sell his 2000 1.3 Ford Tracer Tonic with 32K on the clock to generate some cash for my mom.
The vehicle is in my late dad's name so would we need to wait for the Estate to be wound up before selling?
He also had a number of tools I would like to smous to generate some cash.
Could we claim any expenses incurred for the funeral,medical bills etc from the Estate?
I would assume the little he had left in his annuities do not form part of the Estate?
He has a firearm which I now have locked up in my safe.Could I just hand this in at a police station along with the death certificate?
