We took a walk to town this afternoon, to treat our son, and ourselves, to a lunch at Ester, towns best restaurant, we never eat in their dining rooms, allways in the bar/lounge as the music is a little bit louder (more audible) there, (btw I built and installed all 21 loudspeakers they use).
I hadn?t made any table reservation so they could not know we were coming but still the playlist that was rolling those two hours spent there probably is called "senior citizens in town" or something like that, only good stuff from the 50:s and 60:s, fine with me, I can eat a good meal and have a nice bottle of red to this:

This made me think about how long I have been listening to music, and messing with the equipment used to do so (with variations in level of success)
At age about 10 I had an old Philips table top radio, tube and finished in something close to the textool on eatly Fender amps, one night the radio went silent, and quoting Van, "Fats did not come in whithout those wireless knobs, nor Elvis, nor John Lee!, this needed fixing.
Removing the rear plate I found one tube not lighted up, removed that and put another ( was given a box of tubes with the radio) in its place, the new one performed perfectly well as a lightbulb for about 30 seconds, then went dark and radio still quiet.
Then and there I decided I must learn/find out how those things worked, radio worked again two days later but still have not learnt all that I want, but the path has been tremendous fun so I plan to rewalk parts of it with You, hard for You to stop me, except for moderators but willing to bribe them if necessary.
To be continued, maybee..................
