so we've had a couple of threads on guilty pleasure type songs. what about the opposite - songs people seem to love, but you loathe so intensely that you feel like puking anytime you hear them...
"imagine" by john lennon. he was well before his time. this is cheese in an aerosol long before anyone else came up with the idea.
"house of the rising sun" by pretty much anyone. or is it everyone?
"what if god was one of us" joan osborne. quite sad - she's pretty good in general. but i just can't listen to her 'cause i just can't get past this song.
dire straits. the band. pretty much everything they ever did. yeah, i know mark is a great guitarist, but everything he ever did in dire straits is boring, repetitive & just has no substance to it. i just don't get the appeal..
