Hi there,
New here. And also new to the whole AV business. Looking to buy a decent, but extremely affordable audio set-up that will probably be used primarily for music (predominately rock-ish stuff) but also for home theatre. I've been subjected to a pathetic little Aiwa mini hi-fi for too long. My lounge is fairly large with a high ceiling and wooden floor boards.
I'm looking at the Sony HT-DDW885 (see link below) with the aim to move its front speakers into an adjacent room and replace them in the lounge with decent floor standing speakers.

My questions are:
Would the receiver, sub and surround speakers be adequate for my humble needs?
Is the receiver's HDMI interface a real benefit and selling point?
Would an older pair of Kef Q7 floor standing speakers be suitable, or would it be overkill?
Thanks for the help.
