If your BD player feeds both sound and video into your TV set (this is the diagnostic test), then switch everything off at the wall plug, pull out all connections from your player to the amp, switch on the amp, let it settle, then plug in the HDMI cable, switch on the player and let the amp and player handshake. [QUOTE="jlaubza, post: 1187826, member: 21934"] I too had a problem with my Sony player, same model as yours. Click on my name and look for entries in January 2024. Bizarrely, my player fed both sound and video directly into my TV set. This was diagnostically helpful as my problem turned out to be an AVR setting glitch (I have a Denon X4200w). I found a net reference a few years old that alerted me to this. If your BD player feeds both sound and video into your TV set (this is the diagnostic test), then switch everything off at the wall plug, pull out all connections from your player to the amp, switch on the amp, let it settle, then plug in the HDMI cable, switch on the player and let the amp and player handshake. If still no signal, pull out the HDMI cable and then replug while the player is switched on. My problem self corrected initially but the process described above came from the net and I tested it, just in case I had the same glitch later on. Good luck, that Sony player is worth saving.
